چکیده

Dihydroxybenzaldehyde-based Schiff base ligands (L1–L3) and their ruthenium(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H-, 13Cand 31P-NMR, UV–Vis, IR and mass spectroscopy. The DNA binding of the ruthenium(II) complexes was investigated by UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy. The experiments revealed that all the compounds could bind to DNA through electrostatic interactions and the intrinsic binding constants (Kb) were estimated under similar sets of experimental conditions. The absorption spectral study indicated that the ruthenium(II) complexes had intrinsic binding constants in the range of (1.6–8.6)×104 mol-1 dm3. The complex [Ru(CO)(PPh3)2(L)] bound more strongly than the other complexes. In addition, the DNA cleavage properties for all ruthenium(II) complexes were tested.

A new Schiff base ligands (H2L -H2L 3) was synthesized by the condensation reaction of 4-acyl pyrazolones and 2-benzothiazolyl thiosemicarbazide. The ruthenium(II) Schiff base complexes were prepared by the interaction of the ligands with [RuHCl(CO)(EPh3)2(B)] (E=P/As; B=PPh3/AsPh3/py). They were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-vis, 1H, 13C, and 31P NMR spectral data. The interactio...

A new Schiff base ligand (L) obtained by the condensation reaction of N-acetylaceto-otoluidineand 2-aminopropanoic acid (an amino acid), is used to synthesize four mononuclearcomplexes of [MLCl] and [ML2] types (where M = Cu(II) and Zn(II); L = Schiff base) bykeeping the metal and ligand ratio as 1:1 and 1:2 respectively. This ligand and its complexeshave been characterized on the basis of diff...
